Edward brings more than a decade of experience in portfolio management in Asian equities with a focus on growth and restructuring companies.
Edward’s previous role included managing the Asian Long Short Equity Fund at Gordian Capital and Truston Asset Management and was a managing director responsible for Asian equities at Elmwood Advisors.
From 1995 to 2005, Edward was Head of Investor Relations at KB Financial Group, worked at CLSA as a Senior Analyst and an M&A banker at Bankers Trust.
Edward received a B.A. in Economics from SUNY at Stony Brook and an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1991.
Jason Chan
Co-Founder, Head of Investments
Jason is currently serving as the Chief Investment Officer at Ternary and its private equity fund. Prior to establishing Ternary, he held the position of Managing Partner at Z10 Capital Ltd, a privately owned PE firm that specializes in pre-IPO investments in Hong Kong and China.
He began his career as a physical trader at Arbed Group and later joined the Iron Ore Division at Noble Group in Hong Kong, where he built an extensive network in the shipping and iron and steel industry.
Leveraging on his background in commodities, trade, and finance, Jason established multiple companies that focused on commodities trading and investing.
Jason holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the National University of Singapore and is an alumnus of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Eugene Chiang
Non-Executive Director
Eugene is a serial entrepreneur and his business experience spans across Asia Pacific. His firm is one of Apple’s top 200 global suppliers. He led the company through a successful M&A in 2018.
Eugene’s commitment to giving back to the community is strongly aligned with Ternary’s philosophy of making the world a better place. He is an avid supporter of Sian Chay Medical Institution.
Peter Tan Chee Cheng
CFO
Peter has over 20 years experience in financial information project management, edible oil trading, business administration and corporate finance.
Leveraging his strong project and deal management capability, Peter supports and contributes to the growth of Ternary as a management executive.
Peter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Yongchuan Pan
Portfolio Manager
Yongchuan is the fund manager of the Ternary Cypress Fund, which invest in public equities backed by physical assets.
Prior to Ternary, Yongchuan spent 12 years with D E Shaw & Co trading in distressed and asset-backed investments.
From 2006-2012, he was based in New York City, responsible for trading asset-backed securities and related instruments.
Moving to London in 2012, Yongchuan was tasked with developing DE Shaw’s European distressed assets segment with a focus on peripheral European countries, in particular Spain and Italy.
During this period, Yongchuan raised three distressed funds before moving to Hong Kong in 2015 to grow the firm’s Greater China distressed business.
Yongchuan graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.
Changsung Kim
Portfolio Manager
Changsung Kim is the lead arbitrage quant and co-founder of the Alphanonce Market Neutral fund, a multi strategy crypto arbitrage fund. Prior to joining Ternary, he worked as global alpha researcher at Trexquant and as a software engineer at VCNC and Warevalley.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University and won a gold prize in KPhO (Physics Olympiad) during his high school days.
kevin kyushik kim
Portfolio Manager
Kevin was previously managing director and research head at Soorim Asset Management Co., Ltd in South Korea before joining Ternary.
Kevin has held key roles as an advisor at Brain Asset Management Co., Ltd, Trinity Asset Management Co., Ltd and Sky Asset Management Co., Ltd.
Kevin has also acted as the CEO and CIO (Chief Investment Officer) of his family office for over 20 years, producing outstanding results primarily investing in growth stocks.
Having studied Law (B.A. in Law, Seoul National University), Kevin was admitted to the bar association in South Korea in 2007.
Well equipped to analyse governance risks of Korean corporate groups, Kevin has leveraged this ability to identify investment opportunities, engaged in investment banking advisory and has previously conducted shareholders’ activist litigation against several companies that were undervalued due to governance risks while a partner at Jehyun Law Office.
Kevin founded and is currently a board member of The Korean Corporate Governance Forum.
Aegon Jae
Co-founder, CSO (Sustainability), Business Development
As a co-founder of Ternary, AJ manages sustainability initiatives and business development. Prior, Aegon founded ‘Consulting AJ Pte Ltd’, where he provided advisory services for corporations specializing in niche areas spanning across personal and organizational growth.
AJ also founded and continues to coach the ‘Active Journey’ – a functional and recovery fitness system culminating from his own experience in competitive sports and successful rehabilitation from injuries of varying magnitudes.
AJ spent the last decade in roles including fund management, food commodity trading, and, technical trading of various asset classes.
This multifaceted experience from founding and working with pioneers across a span of industries has groomed in him essential skills that can be applied across a wide array of opportunities, to add value to organizational and personal growth.
A charismatic and dynamic leader, AJ pursues his passions for the fields of health and wealth, maintaining a growth mindset with a strong identity of social and environmental responsibility.
Illia Parshyn
Investment Associate
Illia holds a Bachelors of Science (Honours) Accounting and Management degree from Queen Mary, University of London in 2018.
Illia started his career as research, marketing and administration executive with Pearl Bridge Partners Limited, a financial services company in Hong Kong. He has worked as an economist in UMCC, a mining company in Ukraine and an auditor in EY Ukraine.
Presently, Illia is an analyst in Ternary and tasked with improving operations efficiency through automation.

Kim Leng is a finance industry veteran with a 25-year career with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and is currently a board director of several listed companies and financial institutions.
Kim Leng’s previous role included Special Advisor (Financial Supervision) and Assistant Managing Director of the Banking & Insurance Group at MAS, responsible for the licensing and supervision of banks and insurance companies in Singapore.
Kim Leng was awarded the Public Administration Medal in 2014 by the President of Singapore for his outstanding efficiency, and competency.
Bill Reichert
Advisor
Bill Reichert is a partner at Pegasus Tech Ventures, focused on venture stage investments in the US. Based in Silicon Valley, Bill manages Pegasus’ portfolio investments in AI, robotics, quantum computing, neuromorphics, space, and more.
Additionally, Bill is the Chief Evangelist for Startup World Cup, a start up platform which connects and supports startup ecosystems all over the world.
Bill started his investment career as the co-founder and managing director of Garage Technology Ventures and has served on the boards of numerous startups. His experience includes several years as a serial entrepreneur and operating executive.
Prior to Garage Technology Ventures, Bill was a co-founder and senior executive in several venture-backed technology companies, including Trademark Software, The Learning Company, and Academic Systems.
Bill has worked at McKinsey & Company, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., and the World Bank. He has authored articles and delivered speeches on entrepreneurship, venture capital, innovation, and other topics globally.
Bill holds a B.A. degree from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He was a member of the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, where he taught Venture Finance. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, and is a former Chairman of the Churchill Club in Silicon Valley.
He is a Beachheads Advisor for New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, and is also an advisor to the Women’s Startup Lab, Nordic Innovation House, and the Korea Innovation Center.
Tan Kok Heng
Advisor
Dr Tan Kok Heng serves as the Executive Director of Sunway RE Capital Pte Ltd, the real estate investment management arm of Sunway Berhad.
Dr Tan oversees the real estate fund management business with the objective of building Sunway’s overseas property business and growing its recurring income. His responsibilities include deal origination and fund raising, with an emphasis on setting up listed and unlisted funds.
Prior to Sunway, Dr Tan was the CEO of the fund management arm and Chief Investment Officer of Sime Darby Property Berhad (“SDPB”). He was instrumental in setting up private real estate and development funds for SDPB as well as being developing numerous joint ventures. Before his appointment at SDPB, he held various executive appointments, with Colliers International (Singapore) Pte Ltd) and CapitaLand Limited.
Dr Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Estate Management. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Singapore Institute of Management, Master of International Business from the Curtin University of Technology, Australia and Doctorate (Transdisciplinary Studies) from Central Queensland University, Australia. He is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.
Dongwook Choi

Dongwook Choi is a professional management consultant who specializes in helping startups and SMEs to successfully scale up their businesses. Scaling up requires sophisticated expertise such as strategy development, business modelling, new service development, collaboration, funding, joint ventures, and M&As, which many of the startup CEOs are lacking. Dongwook has the unique blend of management consulting and industry expertise across telecommunication, food & beverage, contents, manufacturing, financial services, startup incubation, and public sector. In each of his roles, he had successfully challenged the old businesses to come up with new value creation streams. His hands-on experience from many industries, together with the strong problem solving and customer orientation, has made him a proven value creator.
Mr. Choi worked for McKinsey & Company from 1990-96 in Melbourne, Sydney and Seoul offices serving manufacturing and financial services clients.
LG Telecom – 1999-2005 – responsible for customer acquisition, retention and the value maximization for the customer base.
Maeil Dairy – 2010-11 – Dongwook served as the CEO of a publicly listed food & beverage company, improving risk management and leading the company through management change to achieve operational excellence.
2013-2015 – Gyeonggi Content Agency – president of the leading public incubator. Supporting the startups and venture companies on various issues along their growth phases.
In 2020 Mr. Choi closed an M&A deal by redefining a third party logistics company’s business model to expand into the fulfilment service for the online merchants.
Dongwook’s extensive exposure to many industries and roles gave him the unique strength of organizing a sustainable growth strategy as well as of creating a new value by consolidating the best practices from the relevant industries. Dongwook has served the board for a few KOSDAQ and venture companies. He is teaching the principles of management, international businesses, and the SCM seminar course at Incheon National University as a visiting professor. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Supply Chain Management) from Incheon National University, an MSIA (MBA) from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BA in Business Administration from Seoul National University.
Joshua Liu
Advisor
Joshua’s background in investment banking and the securities industry has equipped him with expertise in handling a broad range of financial advisory transactions backed by 20+ years of experience in the industry.
Concurrent to being an advisor for Ternary, he is the Managing Director and principal supervisor for IPOs in Lego Corporate Finance, a listed entity in Hong Kong (3938HK).
Joshua has managed numerous IPOs, including Best Mart 360 (2360HK), Prosper One (1470HK), SFund International (1367HK), and K Group Holdings (8475HK) and previously worked with established corporate finance houses in Hong Kong, such as Optima Capital Limited, South China Capital Limited and Pacific Challenge Capital Limited.
Joshua graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Major in Management Information Systems).
Hoo Chui Whei
Operations Manager
Having developed a keen interest in fund management over the course of her career, Chui Whei joined Ternary as an Operations Associate, supporting the operational growth of the company. Prior, she spent 6 years managing a diverse range of administrative and operational functions in the banking industry.
Chu Whei holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) degree from The National University of Malaysia.
Sora Han
Operations Manager
Sora joined Ternary Fund Management as a Fund Operations Associate. Prior to Ternary, she has two years of fund marketing experience in the Hanwha asset management company in South Korea. Sora holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Yonsei University, South Korea.
Mary Ma
Operations Manager
Mary has joined Ternary as a Fund Operations Associate. Prior to joining Ternary, she has many years of experience in an operations management role in Singapore. Mary holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Sichuan Traditional Chinese Medicine College. In her pursuit of professional growth, she is currently undertaking the ACCA qualification in Singapore to expand her skill set and knowledge base in the dynamic world of finance and operations.
